Blowing Rock Bucket List

It’s a new year, and while some of us are already breaking our resolutions, we’ve put together some bucket list items that we can all get behind in 2023!

Look at the world from a different perspective.

Get some perspective in Blowing Rock, NC. See the world from 4,000 ft. above sea level. Take in the views and enjoy the natural splendor, or put yourself in a new position. Soar down that zipline, ski down that mountain, or visit The Blowing Rock. Here’s to trying new things in the new year and broadening your perspective.

Spend more time with loved ones.

Bring your loved ones to Blowing Rock. Whether it’s a family trip, romantic getaway, or a reunion with your girls, there is plenty for everyone in Blowing Rock. Head over to Tweetsie Railroad and have a blast with the young ones. Visit BRAHM, Blowing Rock Art & History Museum, and experience art through a distinctly Appalachian lens. Hit up one of our luxurious spas and spend some time getting pampered. Your loved ones appreciate the quality time.

Learn a new skill.

It is always a good time to learn a new skill, but what better time than the new year? There is an array of new skills to be acquired in Blowing Rock. Bonus, they all get you closer to nature. Start by taking a hike. It’s free and only requires a little bit of planning. If you’re already an avid hiker, try horseback riding, white water rafting, or fishing.

Prioritize health over wealth.

Get out, get active, and have that experience. Acquiring things is fine but acquiring experiences is priceless. Hike up on Grandfather Mountain or the Blue Ridge Parkway to get active and see amazing views. Canoe or kayak at the iconic Price Lake and take in the scenery from the water.  Head over to Appalachian Ski Mountain to stay fit in winter and soar down that slope.

Fall Festivals in the High Country

Fall events make the season extra festive! If you have missed a fall festival, note the timing of individual events to plan ahead for the following year. Dates change, but in general, each festival is held the same weekend in each year (ex: Woolly Worm Festival is the third weekend in October).
